Pelican Panel runs Minecraft, Palworld, and whatever's next.
Every game runs in its own container with a console, files, and backups per server — and your friends connect to your server's address, not your home IP.
Panel + games, one server
Console, files & SFTP
Ready-made game recipes
HTTPS, no domain needed
Your admin login is generated at first boot; read it over SSH.
Run Pelican Panel from day one.
Every plan includes Pelican Panel installation, unmetered bandwidth, and full root access.
Length of Subscription
One panel for every serveryour group actually plays.
When the group jumps to the next game, import its egg from the catalog and create the server — same panel, same box.
A Real Address, Not Your Home IP
No port forwarding, no changing IP, no strangers pointed at your house. Each game's port opens on its own the moment you create its server.
Panel and Games Together
The panel and its game runner arrive on one server, already connected — with room to add a second when your group outgrows it. Other hosts leave you to puzzle that out yourself.
Hand Over a Console, Not the Machine
Per-server permissions cover console, files, backups, and schedules. Your server, your rules, their game.
The Long Install, Skipped
The panel is running when you arrive, HTTPS included. The DIY route? PHP, a webserver, a database, and a second install for the game engine.
Everything a game server needs, already in place.
Pelican Panel is in beta and says so — we pin one tested release, and you choose when to update.
A Fixed, Verified Release
The panel and Wings — its game engine — on Debian 13, at a release we pin and verify. Only the games run in Docker containers.
The Game Engine Stays Off the Internet
The game engine is never exposed to the internet — only the panel is. Game ports open per server, automatically.
HTTPS on a Plain IP
A real certificate, no domain needed — and a set-domain command for when you want one. Your login is waiting over SSH.
A Working Scheduler, Included
This image installs the cron entry and queue worker that scheduled tasks need. On DIY installs they're easy to miss — and scheduled backups silently never run.
Other VPS hosts meter your bandwidth. We don’t.
Most providers hand you a transfer allowance, then bill you per gigabyte the moment you exceed it — so a traffic spike becomes a surprise invoice. DreamHost doesn’t meter bandwidth at all.
is what 10 TB of monthly transfer costs on AWS Lightsail. On a DreamHost VPS, the same 10 TB costs $0.
| Provider | Bandwidth | Overage rate | Cost at 10 TB/mo | Cost at 50 TB/mo |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DreamHost | Unmetered | No overage | $0 | $0 |
| AWS Lightsail | Metered | $0.09/GB | $810 | $4,410 |
| DigitalOcean | Metered | $0.01/GB | $90 | $490 |
| Vultr | Metered | $0.01/GB | $75 | $475 |
| Linode / Akamai | Metered | $0.005/GB | $45 | $245 |
No transfer caps, no overage fees, no surprise invoice when your traffic spikes — fair use applies.
Competitor figures are each provider's publicly listed overage rates as of June 2026, for outbound transfer beyond each provider's included transfer allowance (plan plus any account-level free-transfer grant). Providers publish these rates in USD; amounts shown in other currencies are approximate conversions. DreamHost VPS includes unmetered bandwidth with no per-GB or per-TB overage charges, subject to terms.

Frequently Asked Questions
- No. The Pelican Panel image installs the panel and the Wings daemon on the same VPS, and first boot registers that server with itself as a game-hosting node. The second template, Additional Wings Node, is capacity you add later — it has no panel and no login of its own.
- Any game with an egg in the community catalog — Pelican Panel's word for a file that configures how to run a Docker image. Nothing is pre-imported: in the panel you browse categories like Minecraft, Games Steamcmd, and Games Standalone, import the game you want, then create the server, which is when the game files download.
- Your worlds live at /var/lib/pelican/volumes on your server's root disk, and backups are yours to run. Every Pelican Panel starts with one local backup host, and DreamHost documents adding DreamObjects as an S3 backup host so copies land off the server. Raise each server's backup limit first — new servers start at 0.
- Pelican Panel publishes no minimum — its install docs state no memory or CPU figure, and checkout publishes none either. Third-party pages invent numbers that disagree with each other. Any figure we ever suggest isDreamHost's own guidance, and says so.
- You skip the install. Pelican Panel's documented path wants PHP with ten extensions, a webserver, a database, and a certificate created before the HTTPS config — and its docs say IPs cannot be used with its SSL. Here the panel, Wings, and Caddy come pre-installed, with a real certificate on your bare IP.
- Your server has its own public address, so they connect to that instead of your home network. You also skip per-game firewall work: Wings publishes each game server's port through Docker automatically. The connect address sits on that server's Console tab — 25565 for Minecraft and 8211 for Palworld are the documented examples.
- No — it is in beta, and Pelican Panel says so: its docs warn that things might change or break between beta versions, and every release since May 2024 is tagged beta. Our image pins one tested release rather than tracking upstream, and the credentials file on your server says the same.
- One server bill. Plans start at $8.99/mo for your first 3 months, then $15.99/mo. Pelican Panel's site says the software is free to use forever, and its FAQ says a commercial licence applies only if you modify the panel, keep the changes closed, and publish it.
