Email Hosting Decoupled from Web Hosting in Response to Customer Demand
LOS ANGELES, California—April 16th, 2019—DreamHost®, a global leader in web hosting and Managed WordPress services, has today launched hosted email as a standalone product for domain owners who need solid and reliable email, and who may not have an immediate need for website hosting.
Each email box includes full IMAP access for true data portability, 25GB of storage, a modern webmail experience free of advertisements, and full and complete integration into DreamHost’s bespoke account control panel.
“When it comes to establishing an online presence, we’ve seen many users register domain names with a plan to create websites weeks, or even months in the future,” said Justin Lund, DreamHost’s Email Product Manager. “In the interim, many express an interest in dedicated hosted email services. Today we’re happy to be able to bring over two decades of email experience to a service offering built around that very specific need.”
Individual email addresses at DreamHost start at $1.67 per month, per mailbox, when paid annually. Users may register domains with DreamHost directly, or may use domains registered elsewhere to host their email.
Dedicated email hosting from DreamHost launches today and is available to both new users and existing DreamHost users whose hosting service may not already include email.
