Gutenberg is the name for the Block Editor project in WordPress. A lot of WordPress developers and enthusiasts use the terms Gutenberg Editor and Block Editor interchangeably.

Gutenberg or the Block Editor is an update to the WordPress Classic Editor. Instead of a simple text editor, the Block Editor uses a “block” system. Blocks are pre-built elements that you can move around a page and customize using pre-set options.
If you’ve ever used website builder software before, you’ll be familiar with how Gutenberg works. The editor comes with a broad range of blocks out of the box and you can extend that selection using plugins.
For users that prefer the Classic Editor, there are plugins that disable Gutenberg in WordPress. You can also opt to use other website builders instead of Gutenberg.
