What is text-decoration?

Text-decoration is a Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) property that specifies the decoration added to text. It is a shorthand for text-decoration-line, text-decoration-color, text-decoration-style, and text-decoration-thickness.

More About text-decoration

Text-decoration can artistically enhance text by adding underlines, overlines, line-throughs, or a combination of these elements. This property is drawn across descendent text elements, which means that a child element won’t be able to remove the specified decoration.

This text-decoration property is a shorthand for a handful of other CSS properties. Setting a value for a text-decoration-line property will specify the text’s decoration, such as an underline or overline. Text-decoration-color will set the color of the decoration. Changing the text-decoration-style will set the decoration’s line style, such as wavy, solid, or dashed. Finally, text-decoration-thickness determines the width of the line decoration.
