Announcing the Dreamiest Sites of the Year Awards!

Written by ellice

Update: We are now accepting submissions for The Dreamies until Nov. 28th! Be sure to tweet your site’s URL, your chosen category, and #TheDreamies to @dreamhost. Share the good news!

Have you ever tried contacting DreamHost via your smartphone? If the answer is yes, you might have discovered that “DreamHost” autocorrects to “dreamiest”. Coincidence? I think not.

When this happens, the response is usually: “DreamHost. Not dreamiest. Damn autocorrect.”

And while some might assume we’d take offense to that reaction, we actually love it. Dreamiest? Hell yeah we’ll take it. More like, THANKS, autocorrect! You know what’s up.

But we can’t take all the credit for this magical wonder of technological word vomit. “How did they get to be so dreamy?”, one might ask. And the answer is you, my friends. Our loyal and loving DreamHost customers have helped us live up to our dreamiest potential over the years, and now it’s time to pay you back.

And that’s why this year, we’ve decided to introduce our first ever Dreamiest Sites of the Year Awards!

By allowing us to host your magnificent websites for all these years, you’ve guided us to the dreamiest tier of web host providers. And we’d like to thank you by putting a crown upon your headwebsite and deeming your site the Dreamiest!

Yes, yes it does. Image source: tyrionlannister.net

Think your website has what it takes to be the dreamiest? Do you want other sites to blush and giggle over the mere mention of your website? Here’s how we can make that happen:

I want that crown. How do I get it?

We will be honoring five websites in the following categories:

  • Dreamiest Homepage
  • Dreamiest User Interface
  • Dreamiest Small Business Blog/Website
  • Dreamiest Ecommerce Website
  • Dreamiest Personal Blog/Website

Think your website[s] has what it takes to nab one (or all) of these categories? Keep readin’ for how to play!

This sounds easy. What are the rules?

The first rule is… THERE ARE NO RULES.

(just kidding, they’re right here)

  • You must be a DreamHost customer for your website to be considered
  • If you host only one website at DreamHost, you can submit that site to as many categories as you like.
  • If you host multiple websites at DreamHost, you can submit any of the sites you host to any of these categories. However, you cannot submit the same site to more than one category.
    • Example: You:  My wildandcrazysite.com has the best homepage AND it’s the coolest ecommerce site out there! I can be crowned TWICE! Us: No, you can’t. There can be only one.
  • One winner per category will be chosen.
  • Submissions will be received via Twitter only.
  • U.S. residents only

If you think your website has dreamy potential, let us know on TwitterTweet your site’s URL and the category you’d like to win, along with #TheDreamies (without the hashtag we won’t count your submission!).

We will be accepting submissions starting today, Monday November 7 until Friday November 18. Mark your calendars!

Once we have received all the submissions, we will finalize the nominees to a select few, then leave the voting to YOU!

Yes—you, THE PEOPLE, will get to vote and be the final authority on the Dreamiest websites of 2016. Voting will begin in December, so follow us on Twitter @dreamhost and be on the lookout!

But what about what really matters? WHAT DO I WIN?

Isn’t it enough to win the proud satisfaction of being able to call the fruits of your web labor one of the Dreamiest sites the internet has to offer? OF COURSE IT ISN’T. The winners will receive a $100 gift card, and your very own Customer Spotlight on our blog!

And that’s it, folks! We know it’s been a crazy election season, and that the word “vote” might be a trigger word for you by now, but we’re here to have fun and take a break from all the madness! Your vote for #TheDreamies may not come with the added pressure of worrying about the future of our country… but your vote still matters! Your vote always matters.

We can’t wait to see your websites! Get to tweetin’!
