Try Using A Different Browser<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Strictly speaking, switching to another browser won\u2019t fix DNS issues. But it can reveal what has gone wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every browser maintains a cache, where content is stored temporarily for quick access. The problem is that your browser cache might have stored the wrong DNS records. That said, it\u2019s most likely to be something like a <a href=\"https:\/\/help.dreamhost.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360003505791-VPN-overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">VPN<\/a>, or security software causing your headaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Turn Off Antivirus Software And\/Or Your Firewall<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Antivirus applications and <a href=\"https:\/\/help.dreamhost.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/215947927-Enabling-the-Web-Application-Firewall\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">firewalls<\/a> protect your device by monitoring traffic. Turn Off Your VPN<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">VPNs, or virtual private networks, provide an extra layer of online privacy by routing data to your device through an encrypted tunnel. So far, so useful. The issue is, the tunnel might be bypassing your default DNS servers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To test this idea, switch off your VPN and try to visit the page where you had the DNS server issue. You should see \u201cSuccessfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><b>Mac<\/b>:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the Terminal, and type in \u201c<span style=\"font-family: courier new, courier, monospace;\">sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder<\/span>\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press <i>Enter<\/i>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Input your admin password when prompted, and press the <i>Enter<\/i> button again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><b>iOS<\/b>: Turn Airplane Mode on and back off again.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Android<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In Chrome, enter \u201c<span style=\"font-family: courier new, courier, monospace;\">chrome:\/\/net-internals\/#dns<\/span>\u201d in the address bar and tap <i>Clear host cache<\/i>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If that page won\u2019t open on your phone, toggle Airplane Mode on and off, or restart the device instead.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By flushing your DNS cache, you will force your device to re-query the DNS server for each site you visit. This ensures you have updated mappings of domain names to IP addresses \u2014 an essential first step in network diagnostics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">8. Restart Your Router<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Network connection issues are a common cause of DNS server errors. One easy way to fix this kind of problem is by restarting your internet router.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Switch it off and unplug the power cable for around 30 seconds.
